The 2006 Agron Data Breach was a leak of Israel's National Population Registry. It occurred when an employee at the Ministry of Interior stole the database and distributed it online.
The Data Leaked
The breach exposed the personal records of approximately 7 million citizens, including:
- Identity: Full names and ID numbers (Teudat Zehut).
- Demographics: Dates of birth, dates of death, and gender.
- Geography: Current and previous home addresses.
- Family Tree: Complete records of parental, sibling, and spousal relationships.
- Immigration: Dates of Aliyah and country of origin.
